IN MEMORIAM OF VINCENT J. BARONE P.E.

‍Vincent Barone founded Vincent J. Barone Consulting Engineering in 1978. Vincent led a vibrant life and was a pillar in the engineering community. His influence to all that worked for him was invaluable. From a young age, Vincent became involved with many facets of Mechanical and Plumbing engineering and excelled. Vincent’s knowledge, warm presence, generosity and guidance touched the lives of many. 

‍Prior to starting Vincent J. Barone PE, PA/Barone Consulting Engineering LLC Mr. Barone started his career as a Mechanical Engineer for Meyer & Luongo Associates in Saddle Brook, NJ.  Responsibilities included Engineering design and analysis. Assisted architects in planning and evaluating designs, developed budget estimates, fuel consumption estimates and estimates of the cost of operation. Prepared plans and specifications for bidders and supervised construction.

He was then the head of engineering department for Atmos Engineering, where he was directly responsible for engineering design, where he supervised staff engineers and draftsmen during the writing of specifications and during the design and layout of mechanical systems. Coordinated and prepared budgets and performed various administrative duties.

He was also a Project engineer for Alex C. Patterson and Sons, Inc., Mechanical Contractors and Engineers, in New York, NY. Duties included the design, layout and the supervision of the installation of HVAC systems for industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings. During the course of his work, he made engineering survey analysis and coordinated designs with the architects.

Mr. Barone was a Third Assistant Engineer with the Military Sea Transport Service and a United States Naval Reserve Officer at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, New York, NY. As the Watch Officer on the USNS Bald Eagle, Vincent was in charge of an 8000 H.P. boiler and engine room plant, in charge of the refrigeration plant and crew safety. He held a Coast Guard license for Operations Engineer for unlimited horsepower.

Mr. Barone was a Life Member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE). American Architects Association (AIA), National Council of Engineer Examiners (NCEE), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Vincent Barone was licensed in the following states: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina and is a member of the NCEES.
